Secondary Schools

When Secondary School first approach us with their language laboratory requirements it is not unusual for them to list both a wish list of features and a set of limitations which they need to work within. These may include limited access to ICT resources, larger class sizes than ideal or simply limited time for both MFL staff and IT support staff to give to a language laboratory project.

For this reason Activa have developed a range of solutions which aim specifically to counteract these concerns whilst providing a dazzling array of product features ranging from wireless computing support through to the creation of interactive multiple choice examinations. We bring to the table both a range of 7 possible solutions for each school and real experience of project management both in the Education sector and in other demanding fields.

For schools wishing to gain access to language lab facilities but without either a budget to finance the purchase of student computers we have Symposium Live. This clever solution offers a budget friendly route to student pairing, grouping, audio broadcast and individual student mentoring and can be upgraded to a fully featured digital laboratory if funding for computers becomes available at a later stage..

Larger class sizes can sometimes be better accommodated through solutions such as Symposium where the audio hardware allows extra students to simply plug in a spare headset if they want to join in teacher led activities. Or by using LogoLab which enables student self study from any networked location

Whatever the school requires, Activa provide a set of special services to cover it.From before purchase, during installation and through to first classes we can guarantee that each teacher gets the training they require, no IT team needs to feel out of the loop and that we make time to ensure that the project is co-ordinated and managed properly. Our promise of unlimited training for both MFL and IT staff is real and documented.
